Most fencing failures come back to one thing: posts not sunk deep enough or not set in concrete. We don't shortcut the groundwork. A fence that blows down in the first storm isn't a fence.

Old fence and gate before replacement, South Dublin

Why fencing falls down, and it's always the same reason

Walk around any estate in South Dublin after a winter storm and you'll see it, panels face-down on the lawn, posts snapped at ground level, or whole runs leaning at 45 degrees. Virtually every case traces back to the same thing: posts driven into soft soil without concrete, or posts too short for the panel height and wind loading.

Cheap fencing jobs cut corners underground because that's where nobody looks. A post in soft soil without concrete will work loose over one or two seasons. By year three the panels are rattling, by year five they're down.

How we install fencing that stays put

Every post is set in postcrete or concrete, not just tamped soil. Post depths are sized for panel height: typically 600mm in the ground for a 1.8m fence, deeper for exposed sites or taller runs. Arris rails or bearers checked for level before panels go on.

Where the ground slopes, we step the fence rather than following the gradient, which keeps the panels square and prevents the lean that's the hallmark of a rushed job.
